Hello Everyone
Many thanks to everyone who participated with our Tag Day event this past weekend. We could not have been so successful without the support of all of our parents driving their cadets to their tagging locations. We received wonderful feedback from several members of the public commenting on how well the cadets behaved and how professional and mature the cadets were in public. We raised over $4000 in two days and that money will go back into our program to keep 2818 successful in providing a thriving and exciting program for your children.
I want to send a huge shoutout to our members of the Support Committee who gave up their weekend as well as our officers and training team who came in to support the cadets. Our Chair, Greg Turriff was instrumental in organizing the tagging locations, supervising at locations and then counting the proceeds with Becky and Charity on Monday. Your leadership, Greg, is very much appreciated and I thank you for everything you do for 2818.
Our next big event is our Mess Dinner on Saturday December 7. This is a formal dinner where the dress will be our dress uniform worn with a white shirt and black bow tie. If your cadet does not have a white shirt, then their green issued shirt is acceptable. If you do not have a bow tie, we have some at the unit we can loan for the evening but they must be returned at the end of the night. If your cadet has not been issued a dress uniform, please have them wear nice pants and a white shirt (no FTU's).
The doors will open for the event at 4:00 pm and the dinner will be held at 5:00 pm.
Monday, December 2 is our last CO's Parade for 2024. Dress for the evening is C1 (Dress uniform) or FTU's if your cadet does not have a dress uniform. Please refer to the link below for the regulations on hair and dress. Boots should be cleaned/polished and shirts should be washed - a full inspection will take place while the cadets are on parade.
Senior cadets are asked to bring in their cover letter and resumes for review to complete Phase I of the Merit Review Board. Phase I must be completed before our Christmas break.
