Hello 2818 Family,
We are now approaching the Remembrance Day season where we take time to remember and honour those who have served our country both in war and in peacetime, in the past and in the present. We have several activities coming up where 2818 cadets can participate and complete community service hours:
This Monday, we will be focusing on our Cyber Awareness training. So if you have a smart device (smart phone or tablet), please bring it with you. Sr cadets will be having a session to learn about proper resume and cover letter layouts.
Sat, Nov 9: No Stone Left Alone, Belleville Cemetery 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm with 608 Belleville Air Cadets. We will be honouring those who are buried there - close to 350 people at this site alone. Dress is C1 (dress uniform) or FTU in lieu of C1. If your cadet does not have a uniform yet, then respectful appropriate clothing ("Sunday Best") is fine.
Mon, Nov 11: Remembrance Day service at Belleville Cenotaph 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Dress is C1 or FTU in lieu of C1.
Royal Canadian Legion Education Program: several weeks ago, I sent an email where cadets can write an essay or poem or draw a picture and submit to a contest with case prizes. Several cadets have expressed interest - please submit your entries soon. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.
We are continuing to update files through the Annual Validation forms, Detailed Health Questionnaires and OHIP card updates. If your cadet's file is still open in any of these areas, please expect a phone call from one of our staff, as we need to update their file before November 1.
If your cadet is not returning to training this year, please advise and return all uniforms and parts to the corps asap.
Weekly Training: Mon, Nov 4th - 1800 - 2100 hrs Belleville Armouries. CO’s Parade
